An exciting year
As of 2 August 2008, it is exactly 125 years since Harboes Bryggeri sold its first beer. A lot has happened since that time in 1883 – our products are a bit different from the ones we launched 125 years ago; we not only sell to local pubs but also export to more than 30 countries, and we are continually developing new products and improving existing ones.
But certain things have not changed. The brewery still stands where it has always stood, in the sunny town of Skælskør with views across Skælskør Fjord. And we intend things to stay that way.
A long and fascinating history
Harboes Bryggeri has a long and fascinating history which has seen us through 125 interesting years. Our initial crowning glory so far came on Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark’s birthday last year, when we were appointed as a Purveyor to the Royal Danish Court.
Innovation and progress
Over the past 125 years, we have made a whole raft of different products. Primarily beer, but for many years now we have also made soft drinks and refreshing drinks. In recent years, products such as cider and energy drinks have been among the products being produced daily at the brewery in Skælskør, Denmark, or at one of our subsidiaries in Estonia or Germany. We also produce malt extract, used in the baking industry, for instance.
To mark our anniversary, we have produced two anniversary brews. They will only be produced for a limited period, but it is well worth making the effort to try them.
Innovation in several areas
